DTE in its description of electronic operation talks about two sensors, rpm and timing. Connectors K46 and K47. RPM should be located in the front part of the engine, under the exhaust manifold. No idea where is the timing sensor is on TS, probably somewhere in the cylinder head.
My friend had a problem with his GTA as the timing belt jumped one tooth. ECU displayed timing sensor failure. V6 has the sensor on top of the engine in the second row of cylinders. He replaced it twice before he found out the right cause of the problem. Crank/rpm sensor is lower, by the flywheel.
I think crank = rpm sensor, but timing sensor is different and located close to camshaft.
