Re: JTD, which oil?
Yeah, you re right, nothing gives as good protection as fully synthetic, especially from cold.-the lower the "w" rating the better protection from cold it gives so you dont need to wait til its warm before you fullly rev the engine. Mobil one will be fine, its good but v, v, overpriced. I ve always used Halfords own brand fully synthetic, it meets Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and VW/Audi Pumpe Duse standards, and you cant get higher than those, plus its only 32 quid (for 5 litres) cos you re not paying for the name. Used it on 3 Tipo TD s a 156 2.4 JTD and a 147 1.9 JTD 16 valve, never had any probs and engine always seems smoother compared with standard oil. Selenia and Fiat Group have a commercial tie up thats why its "recommended". Replacing the Mobil with Selenia is just falling for the marketing hype. If anything the Mobil is likely to give you a healthier engine.
