156 intermitant indicators

Having a bit of indicator trouble. They stop working quite often going to work in the morning (about 7 miles). If you turn off the ignition then on, they usually work again.
It never seems to happen going home though. Weird.
Any ideas guys.

When my Alfa is cold, i.e. out side temperature is below 0°c, the hazard lights don't work until you push the indicator stork down...

Maybe its simular issue, when the car is cold the wiring to the indicators is giving too much resistance to the system to work correctly...
