Replacing 147 Body Computer

Hi all,

I've been having a number of electrical problems with lights, all of which seem to be boiling down to a problem with the Body Computer. I understood from posts here that there was an issue with the tail light that could be solved by replacing a chip in the speedo cluster, but after stripping that out, it doesn't seem to apply to a 147.

Anyway, my basic question is, if I were to get a replacement BC from a scrapper, what do I need to do? I presume it needs to be coded to the keys in order to start the car and use the central locking, but is there anything else?

Also, is there any home-grown way of doing this, or do I need to push it to my dealer to have it done?
