Re: veloce and lusso???
in the olden days of Alfa (80's-90's) it was dead easy, veloce meant sporty, and lusso meant well equipped.
e.g. my 75 3.0 Veloce had a sports (low) front spoiler and rear bumper, it was the same style as my 33 1.7 Cloverleaf veloce.
164s had a cloverleaf spec (not called veloce anymore) and the all singing dancing full option ones were lusso.
Then it got complicated. 156 came with different 'sport pack' options, which included lowered suspension, recaro seats, side skirts, high boot spoiler, 'carbon fibre' centre console. The non-sporty well equipped ones were labelled lusso and usually had leather seats, wooden centre console, steering wheel and gear knob.
I think the facelift models became official 'lusso' and 'veloce' spec complete with badges.
I don't think the first 156 were officially labeled as such (ie on the V5) so it's hard to know what you've got especially when filling in those online insurance searches.
