Rust on th eunderneath of my 147

I just had a look under my Alfa 147 and see that the leg/bracket that holds the steering pump coolant coil is rusted, I think this may need to be replaced.

Does anyone know what this part is actually called and what work is involved repairing them? I will have to put it through an NCT (the Irish stricter version of the MOT) and it may fail on this.

Any ideas?

Re: Rust on th eunderneath of my 147

It is a bolt on part and isn't structural at all.
So it shouldn't fail on that, just like a rusted wing wouldn't fail either.

They are a common rusty part on both 156 & 147 (and probably GT too). It looks like they only get a very thin coat of paint at the factory.

Reasonably easy to replace.

Parts are about £40 each side.
