As some of you know i am new to the forums and alfa owning. I recently purchased a 147 2.0 lusso, on a 53 with 36k on the clock. Which i love!!and i have just had the windows tinted with 35% on the sides and 20% on the rear-view, which just adds to its sexiness lol.
However....This morning i drove to work, happy as a pig in ****. I then showed a mate my new car and told him to put the keys in and have a look at the dash and the sound of the engine. He turned the key, but no engine sound. I tried, tried locking and unlocking the doors...nothing. The trip computer comes on, the stereo comes on, but the car does not turn over, not a sound.
I came to the conclusion that its the immobiliser.
The company i bought it from specialise in hyundai and so they picked up and have taken it to the local alfa dealer which say they cant even look at it till wednesday as they are that busy. When i called them again to check up (im very impatient when it comes to my bella lol) they told me that its not just as easy as putting a code in, it may be an electrical fault.
Is this common?has anyone had this?If so what was done, how quickly was it fixed etc. Iv only had it 36hrs and theyve taken it away from me!! im gutted!! they gave me a ****ty hyundai getz 1.3 as a curtesy car, and i hate it!!
Any help/advice/knowlege on what could be up with it and how long it will take to fix would be greatly appreciated.
