Sorry, but that's ridiculous. You can't glance at if without taking your eyes completely off the road, the wire wil dangle down and look unsightly when plugged in, you can't change the CD without moving the satnav etc.
Mine sticks to the windscreen next to the A-pillar, wire runs down to the steering column, round the top of the column, then tucks neatly into the gap where the flap comes down over the fuse cover. Looks neat, unlike that.
Thanks for your input! I do occasionally take my eyes off the road whilst driving, usually to look at my mirrors, the clock etc. I am not the type of driver that gets fixated with the sat nav, it is a driving aid, not 'she who must be obeyed'.
I am not too worried about the CD, as It is disabled since my 8 GB MP3 player uses the CD changer input. I prefer to use either my MP3 player or the radio.
You are however correct in the point that the cable needs more thought, as I had pointed out in my second post in this thread. Not quite sure if you read that....... or the bit where I haven't permanently installed the sat nav because I sometimes use it in my wifes car. when I get round to buying an additional power cable I will sort it out. I did try it near the A frame and quite liked it, but my 2 kids that were sitting in the back of the car wanted to see the sat nav, so I put it in the middle. It keeps them occupied when they get bored of playing their PSP's.
I have only had the sat nav for a couple of weeks, but from reading this forum, I saw it mentioned that people had had their windows broken because although there was no sat nav on display, there were big circular marks left behind by the suction fitting.
