Re: JTD off the line shame
Launching a JTD is an art-form, and it requires a lot of practice.
You need to give it lots of revs to get the turbo spooling, but let the revs drop down to say 1,500rpm before you lift the clutch (fast) or you'll just spin the wheels. Then ease the accelerator down through first gear, as soon as you hit second put the pedal to the metal, and it should be quick enough. I had a tangle with a GT 1.9 JTD in my V6 and I think I was in third before I passed it, but it might have been remapped.
Remap is probably the way to go if there's not enough power for you. What was it that beat you?
