Having a bit of trouble with my 147 at the moment.
On Friday, driving home in the rain, I noticed the indicator light on the dash was flashing a bit fast (as if there was a bulb blown). It was still raining when I got home, so I didn't bother to check.
Came out last night to start it and the battery was flat. When locking it again, I noticed that the right rear indicator lamp was staying on permanently.
I removed the +ve terminal to avoid draining the battery, and put a new one in this morning. Starts no problem, but the lamp is now staying on all the time.
I decided to take a look at the wiring, because I've had problems with the right side light failure light coming on since I bought the car.
Turns out that somebody previously had cut the right tail light control (+ve) wire, and jumpered it to the left. I fixed this, and now the tail light stays on all the time too!!
Also, the boot courtesy light doesn't work any more. I've tried cleaning all the contacts etc, but no joy with that.
I've also tried a continuity check on the three wires in question (tail light, indicator light, and boot light) from the rear up to the ECU, and this checks out fine.
So I'm at a bit of a loss. Given that the problems are all in the same area, I reckon it's got something to do with the wiring loom up to the front, but the continuity check seems to rule that out. Either that or something has got damp, but what and where?!!
Oh, and I checked the earth in that area, and it looks fine.
Anybody any ideas? Seen anything similar before?
