A bit worried . . . .
Over the last 24 hours I have come back home and there is steam puffing out from under the bonnet accompanied with a slightly acrid odour. A neighbour reckons it smells like anti-freeze but I don't appear to be loosing coolant. My first concern was short circuit somewhere (FIRE!!!!
). Seems to be coming from the area around the drivers side headlamp. Car is going in for a service tomorrow but I don't want to spontaneously combust on route. Anything I should perhaps look for? Holed rad somewhere near the top perhaps - hence minimal loss of coolant?
UPDATE!! Found what it is - it's that long plastic part that runs across the block above the exhaust manifold that is seeping slightly. How easy is this part to get and to replace? Is it liable to be a stock item at the stealership?? It has been repaired before so replacement would seem the best option to me.
