156 Airbag - that old chesnut

Hi Guys,

This is my first attempt at a post. Been looking over the various threads and they all make for interesting reading [and helpful]
Well, for me I have the old airbag light not going out soon after start up. I read some posts mentioning wiring under seat but my 156 2.0TS is a 1998 and there does not seem to be any wiring under the seat. My car has a drivers airbag only. I have had my Alfa for over 2 years now and this is the first fault I have had with it, it has had fantastic reliability up until now.

Any ideas on the airbag issue?

Is it the red airbag light or the yellow one? The yellow one indicates that the passenger airbag has been turned off (keyhole revealed when opening passenger door).

Sorry if you already knew this or that it isn't applicable, I'm not sure what would cause the airbag light except a fault with the system.

Has the car been jump started at all that you know of? Sometimes that can mess with the ECU.

After all, it may only need a reset, which is unfortunately a trip to the stealers, unless you have examiner (I think!)
