Audi A4

An introduction, plus a few questions....

Hello everyone. I'm new to the world of all things Alfa and would greatly appreciate any help or guidance on the matter of which of the following to purchase. I'm looking to replace my clunky, old Audi A4 1.8T and have looked at a couple of 156 2.4 JTD Sportwagons on Autotrader. Now, the two that have caught my eye are as follows: 52Reg, Blue with Momo Leather, 78k on the clock, a mention of Service history but not entire I think.....5999
The second is 2004 Reg, in Graphite grey with Alcantara interior, 20v 175bhp engine(instead of 150 above), with 52k on the clock and FSH....8695.

Now in your collective Alfa-enthused opinions, is the second car worth the extra outlay for 30k less on the clock? Clearly the older car isn't as quick, but to be honest the plan was the remap the engine anyway, which'll take the bhp from 150 to 190(ish) on the older one, or 225 on the younger one.

Any input would be most welcome.

Hello and welcome!
You need FSH on an Alfa trust me! Make sure whichever one you buy has a complete service history and you should hope for either specialist service history or Alfa service history. But have a good look around and don't but the first one you see! Good luck mate

Few agree with me, but I am, forever will be, a low mileage, well cared for, verifiable serviced, motor man, in spite of the views of the 'High Mileage Motorways' appreciation societies views. Well, they have to shift those high-milers on somehow, don't they?
