My Alfa GT woes continued
Just over a month on and around 3,000 miles later and my GT woes continue.
The car failed to start the other day (no sound of starter motor or engine trying to turn over when key turned all the way) and had to call the RAC out who managed to get the thing started with a very long screwdriver poked into the engine bay and somehow managed to fire the thing up. I drove the car to my Alfa dealership who diagonosed the need for a new starter motor.
A day and a half later with this fitted I went to pick up my car. They started it up and drove it to the front of the dealership for me. I asked the obvious question - "so it all working fine now?" and was told "yes". Being a suspicious type with dealers, I turned the ignition off and lo and behold, bloody thing wouldn't start but now the headlamp washers come on when the ignition key is turned!!! I was fuming...
The dealer has now diagnosed the need for a new ignition switch. The RAC man had advised that there was a problem with this in the half hour he spent with the car and had written it on the document he gave me to give to the dealership. I a not impressed with my Alfa experience despite enjoying teh car when it is running...
