Worried 147 newbie!

I'm quite worried, I've put a deposit down on an 05 plate 147 1.6 Turismo TSpark with 38,000 mile, and everyone I've spoken to since said I should invest in the AA / RAC.

Are they really that unreliable?

I've done my research and know that the cambelt should be changed at every 36,000 miles, it's just had a service, and has a full service history. Why does everyone knock alfas? Are they that bad? have I made a horrible mistake?

Re: Worried 147 newbie!

It's a great car, just enjoy it.

Alfas have come on leaps and bounds during the last decade. Just look after it with care and it will reward you with years of enjoyable driving.

Sounds like a great buy to me. The 147 costs a bit more to run than say a Golf (zzzzz) or an Astra (double zzzzz) but it's worth it
