Back again like a neighbour who only pops round when they want to borrow something
. Any way the story so far, Girlfriends 156, 1.8 ts, was struggling over 4000 rpm you could put foot down in any gear but would not go over 4krpm. so i spoke to the prev owner regarding plugs they adv me they had gapped them at 1mm and .9 so got a full new set correct gaps at.9 & .8 and after a bit of further reading on this site decided to clean the maf reset the ecu and throttle position sensor. Followed the directions to the letter and set off for a run(btw when changing the plugs i found my gfriend had been a bit keen with the oil and filled two of the spark plug chambers to the brim with oil, i removed all this befor changing plugs
) any way went for a little blast to see if problem was rectified, and for a while seemed to have done the trick. the following morning the gfriend went to work and rang me at dinner to say same syptoms and there was some hesitation under 4krpm until car had warmed up. (oh yeah the car idles fine at just over 1krpm and i have checked the timing belt and retensioned it.
My first question is should i replace maf lambda or both as they are quite pricey (dont want an ebay cheapo)
secondly i have the satiz workshop cd and (A) are there any wires to plug laptop to this software and where can i get one add (B) would this help me confirm maf or lambda
thirdly i read on 156.net could be the water temp sensor but im noty sure what affect this would have on symptoms
finaly any other thoughts suggestions or things i could try to rectify or be certain what the problem is.
