I had the tracking checked and sorted late Friday afternoon from a local garage, the only reason I went in was that the manager and his wife are both Alfa drivers, so I thought great, someone who I can trust to do some work on the car.
Got the car back and started to drive home, on the way back I thought something wasn't right, so I took it on some very straight roads and now the steering wheel when straight drags the car to the right. On Saturday I rang them up to ask did I need to book it on after explaining the problem and they said no just bring it down and they would have a look.
At low speed its not really noticable, but I drive on a lot of 70mph roads so its a real pain on the ar$€ having to drive witht he sterring wheel not aligned or centered as it was before they got their hands on it!
This morning I took it back in and the same bloke, not the manager, put it on the ramps and checked it, afterwards he came back and said the wheels were all fine and if the steering wheel was out he wouldn't know what to line it up to! I thought this was absolute bowl-locks! So my answer liek any normal thinking person was can you not just put the steering wheel straght and then set the tracking, but he just gave the same answer and mentioned that the only thing he could suggest was driving 20 miles to the closest branch to see if they would test it incase there tracking equipment was out.
So here's where I need the help?
First is what are the sugestions of what I should ask they can do to get it sorted.
The next is has anyone had this problem before and how was is solved.
Should i just re-align/center the steering wheel myself? How would I do this?
Trying to keep calm about all this, but I'm just not in the mood, the last time I tried to sort a problem out rationally (not with a car before I say anymore) it didn't work so I made a mate walk around in the reception naked till they listened. I promise not to resort to this tactic this time round.
If someone can help I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks to all on AO who takes time to read the above epic.
