Re: throttle butterfly cleaning
This is how I did it on Thursday.
Disconnected the Battery.
Removed the Jubilee Clip on the throttle housing
Removed the three bolts holding the throttle housing on the engine.
Spray shed loads of carb cleaner on it both sides, working the black crap away with a clean rag, used a small flat screwdriver wrapped with cloth to get right in around the butterfly Valve itself (gently does it mind) no force needed.
Let it dry put it back on reverse procedure. (bear in mind the gasket may need replacing depends how gentle you are)
Reconnected the battery turned key to MAR leave for 90secs.
Turned to off lleave for 90secs, started with out using throttle left it to idle for about five/ten minutes.
thrash it. (timings are important)
That way your doing everything at once including the reset procedure, you may as well do the reset because your car probably wont like you not doing the reset after a clean
