Re: Alfa 156 struggling for power
I got the guys to have a look at the bad running of the car, thinking it may be the MAF. After checking it, they found the egr valve was closed and also checked the vacuum and boost pipes, cleaning where necessary. All in all, it cost just over £400 to fix, due to me finding a second hand pump to fit the car. They said that there is still a spot between 3000 and 4000 revs where the car doesn't pick up, which points towards the MAF. Not very good with cars myself, so haven't got it checked. How much would I be charged for getting the MAF checked without getting ripped off? The car is much better now, and fuel consumption has considerably reduced. Thanks guys.
