When jacking up my Honda I used the original jack but with a soft jack pad inbetween. the difference though when comparing the Honda jack with the Alfa jack is that the Honda jack was made lifting from the joint where the cill sheetmetals are welded together, while the Alfa jack has a cut for this joint suggesting You to touch the sheemetal surface on each side of the welded joint instead. So that is why I am bit afraid of using the same technique on the Alfa.
But, when lifting my brothers 156, we used a normal garage jack with soft jack pad touching a bit further in to the body. You can locate those places by searching for something looking like location holes used in the Alfa assembly line. Those places seem to cope the weight.
But, if You want to put the car on stands it is difficult to lift and put a stand on the same location. Would be nice to know if anyone has put the car on stands on how that was done!
