Had bad luck this morning my 156 2.0 TS (1998 68,000MLS), decided to lose all its power on me at about 40mph.
Basically it started juddering like it was missing or starved of fuel, then i noticed the red injector light came up on the dashboard, then there was a slight misfire and i coasted to a standstill.
I still had full electrics, i tried to start her up several times but it wouldnt spark, all i get is an electrical ignition sound but it just wont (catch) even left for an hour but still no-go.
Got a loader to take me home, so got my tools out and the 1st thing i did was take off the cam-belt cover... the belt doesnt look like its snapped still on the cogs and pulleys but feels a little slack i reckon if i pulled hard enough i might be able to pull it off (might be able too)
The cambelt hasnt been replaced and the variator is noisy on start up.
Im hoping its something electrical, car is well looked after by myself oil etc..... any ideas would be much appreciated this is my 9th Alfa still love em!"
