Re: Comparison between a tuned GT JTD and a V6 GT / 147 GTA
Tested the V6, a very nice car and that engine sounded incredible. The only drawbacks for me...After driving 4 wheel drive cars its clear high powered front wheel drives cars do struggle, although I've not driven a Q2 equipped car.
However, I'm sad to say my GT has been part ex'd for an A3 3.2 Quattro. Yes it looks boring, but it goes as well as the V6 GT and corners on a different planet. The interior is also far more superior in build quality terms but lacks does italian flair.
Having said that, it has surprised me when taking cars out for test drives just how far Alfa has come in terms of build quality. Even after getting out of a Golf GTi my (old) GT felt very very well screwed together, almost VW like infact, and I think the used prices for the cars, which are on Par with A3 Quattro's of the same age reflect this.
I'm going to miss my GT, but I had and itch that needed to be itched. I'm sure my next car will be an Alfa, after I'm tired of thrashing 250bhp of 4 wheel drive about!!!
Thanks for the input.
