Injector Light - Always On

New to the forum as I've just picked up a 156 2.0TS on a '99 with 85K miles.

The car drives beautifully, but the injector warning light is permantly on (it flickers very occasionally) although the performance of the car is in no way affected.

From my limited knowledge of Alfas (thanks to reading lots of ggod posts on this forum), it would seem that if the MAf was at fault the performace would suffer.

Has anybody experience similar to this or could point me in the right direction?

I would like to read out the ECU errors as it may only be a minor problem. Is anybody in the Ipswich area who could possibly help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Injector Light - Always On

the light simply means the ecu is detecting a fault, that could be anything, choose from literally thousands of possibilties. best thing to do is get a diagnosic performend to obtain any fault code(s) stored in the ecu, they are your best clue.

Re: Injector Light - Always On

Try doing the throttle reset procedure first, its quite easy to do:

1) Turn key to 'MAR' and leave for 90 seconds.
2) Turn key back to off for 90 seconds
3) Start car and leave to idle for 15 minutes

Do not touch the accelerator at any time during the above procedure.

4) Now take it for a good rip around the block..

Let me know if it sharpens the throttle up a bit

You could be right about MAF though, does it rev right to the redline, without feeling like any power is dropping off?

Get a diagnostic done..

The car revs right to the redline.

Feels great as I normally drive an Audi A3 diesel which redlines just as the 156 gets going!!
