Re: Alloy wheel deal

if you have uprated discs and calipers go for it.

if not the wheels will show the standards up too much.

nice with the right braking gear

Re: Alloy wheel deal

i think the style is very nice.

not having heard of the brand or seen them in person, i can't comment on their quality. if you're happy, no probs.

wobbly bolts are a little contentious; some people happily use them, others won't. on anything but a V6 alfa, should be perfectly fine (ie: not so much torque on your car that the wobblies might not hold the wheel tightly enough without excessive tightening of them). obviously ensure the centre hole is the correct size (58.1mm) cos this is what takes the weight of the car, through the hub; and not the bolts. especially important with wobblies fitted, cos you rely even less on the bolts, and more on the centre hole. the wheel may be constructed with a bigger hole, which means a spacer ring is pushed into place to reduce it to 58.1mm; like wobbly bolts, not a real problem, and common practice.

17s with standard brakes will be ok. sure, it might look better with bigger brakes, but mostly a cosmetic thing. but i think a bigger cosmetic issue is the rideheight of the car. with bigger wheels and lower profile tyres, you probably want the car lowered, to avoid the '4WD' look.

what size tyres did you get? what are the current size?
