2005 GT 1.9jtd
my car has developed the following symptons over the last week and half:
Car veers left when let go of steering wheel (As far as i know NOT road camber) It puls gently at first and then pulls harder into the kerb the further the wheel turns.
Steering feels light when going round corners; ie. it feels as if the steering wheel isn't turning the wheels as positively as it was before.- It's hard to explain, but before the steering was great, really sharp, now its a bit 'spongey' As if theres a small amount of play perhaps. It feels a bit like the rear wheels 'bite' and grip the road a lot better than the fronts.
All of above happens at all speeds, from very slow to fast.
At slow speeds when reversing a fairly loud 'clunk' can be heard? I can't see anything dangling. This can only be heard when reversing and only when the car has sat still for a few hours, e.g. over night or in the car park at work. If i dirve it, park it and then drive it soon again, say 2-3hours it doesn't seem to make the clunk, only after a good few hours of standing.
The car really 'wanders' on the road, a horrible feeling, at first i thought tramlining but it doubt that can be blamed for this amount of wondering.
Any clues anyone? I did drive over a speed bump a little fast and heard a thud, but presumed this was just the plastic undef belly tray.
Sorry for the poor description but it's hard to explain; basically the whole steering, handling is not as it was.
