just ordered some bilstein shocks from motorsportworld - only £5 more than Alfa ones.
Local motor factor is charging £50 for an upper arm compared to around £100 for an Alfa one.
Bloke said it looked like aluminium as was shiny.
Going to cost me atleast £600 to get my Alfa in vague working order - £200 for service (assuming £50 of "extras"), £200 for shocks + £50 fitting & I'm guessing atleast a couple of arms @ £50 each +£50 fitting.
I'm trying to ignore the fact that the clutch needs opening up to replace a 50p spring (can't use full clutch pedal travel at mo), the gear lever doesn't centre itself anymore and something is clonking which could be driveshaft.
I'm beginning to wonder if worth part ex car for something else, but unfortunately I still love the car and it still looks so good (when I've cleaned it anyway)
