Re: Gt comfort levels? for long journeys
When I put new tyres on mine the noise went up.
I do 90miles per day in my JTD and the 6th gears is a godsend on the motorway.
Road / Wind Noise is a bummer. Had it with frameless door windows on WRX and Legacy as well.
Love the seats.
Love the cabin. Great place to be.
Rear visibility is crap but I've got surprisingly good with using mirrors and I've always been one for doing a visual check over the shoulder before changing lanes. Got me out of some potential ****e more than once!
Clutch is heavy and at the moment giving me small problems. Still, I'm at 85k so maybe it's to be expected. Might be in the market for a new clutch soon, or maybe not.
THE LOOKS. It's gorgeous. I was on the m4 yesterday and noticed an Aston driver checking my GT out. I spend a lot of time looking at it in the drive, or at the service station. My wife thinks I've lost my marbles. Still, she's happy it's a car an not a woman.
I reckon Alfa should do a 2nd generation GT to lighten it up, remove all the niggles and design flaws, put a quieter, more powerful diesel in it, but keep the looks. A DSG style clutch maybe?
It's a bloody modern classic. I'm not Mr boring BMW/Audi.
I own this outright, so I'm keeping an eye out for a 159 estate when they start getting down around 13-14 so I can go on surfing/mountain biking weekends. No go carrying bikes and boards with the GT unless I spring for an expensive hidden tow bar.
