156 sport wagon performance : MAF cleaning

Re: MAF Cleaning

are there any pictures of were this MAF is... my 2002 1.8TS 156 sportwagon appears to be a little on the lazy side.

Iit will do 120mph (eventualy) but getting to 60 from standstill isnt exactly lightening (approx 10 ish seconds) ... unless there are anyother suggesitons, i am going to clean this MAF thingy and fit a new air filter, a direct replacement K&N. Will i see any differences.???
Should this car be quicker!!

... oh and I have heard talk of differnet oils...making a difference in acceleration... which oil is best, i generally do short journey,s 10 miles to and 10 miles from work ...and some weekend driving.

Re: 156 sport wagon performance : MAF cleaning

the MAF is the only thing on the intake pipe that has a wiring connector on it. it is after the airbox.

here's a pic: http://www.alfaworkshop.co.uk/Final%20image/alfa_airflow_meter_s.jpg
it wont have the blue caps on, instead the blue bits will be where the intake pies are connected.

k&n wont make any difference to your acceleration but it will sound better. end of the day an induction kit doesnt make bugger all difference to performance.
