dealer will charge £120, but if you supply the key they only want £65. you can get a key on ebay for £10, then go to timpsons and get an uncoded copy made of your original key for £6. remove the ebay key's metal part (6mm drill bit on the round blob inside key) then grind the timpsons key down to same shape as ebay key metal bit, then glue modified timpsons metal bit to ebay key. £16 and you have a key. total saving is £39, the cost of that saving is the hassle of finding a dealer who is willing to do the programming for you without making you buy a new key. you may find thi seasier than i did. i had to lie and say it was the original key that had stopped working for no apparent reason before they agreed to touch the car, any mention of a second hand key and the answer was "no way, we cant do it".
