To Stripe or not to stripe

I've recently just become the proud new owner of a 147 Ducati Corse (purchased from a member on here who it has to be said is an alround top bloke, pleasure to deal with from start to finish).
I just can't decide whether to add the factory decals or leave it as it is, for me the the elegance of the 147 design is great, it almost gets more elegant with age especially given the current design ethos around. However, I do love the presence that the decals give to the Ducati Corse, for me they aren't boy racer, just a subtle hint to show is a little different to the rest.

Thoughts?

I d say leave it as it is, personally, I took mine off.

This might sound mad, but buy the decals in case they go out of stock. I wouldn't put them on, but when you come to re-sell a collector might want them for originality.

Yeah, a great idea, theyre only £140 a side, he should buy 2 sets !

I was looking at buying one like that new in 2008(?) and it was the stripes that put me off! I searched out a nearly new Sport Q2 in black.
The wheels look good with that refurb without the machined face.
You could have ordered one without them, or just taken them off !

The car was sitting in the showroom with them on , it didn't seem right!
Also , I'd had experience of machined face wheels on my Lancia years ago needing refinishing under warranty. And as I loved the 17s on the black Q2 that clinched it for me.

I have the same dilemma to strip or not to strip my alfa 145 with a forthcoming first meet in my local northwest of England looming this sunday......what on earth will they think? ( I am the same bloke that carbon fibre wrapped the bonnet of my MGB GT chrome bumper!)
The roof logo I have is shown below (the ebay shops pic)

I'm going to purchase the roof decal for my 147 Q2 and then, here's the really cool part, i wrap the roof with some Avery Dennison Pearl Bahama Vinyl and you end up with a beautiful coloured pearl roof with an embossed Alfa logo, soooo subtle but so cool. If you do it yourself you do need a very thin vinyl, 3M is rubbish, i wrap vehicles and i use avery all the time.

It would probably be easier to sell the car without them when the time comes :-(

On another controversial note, I always think the 147, especially the obviously sporty variants, are missing side skirts just like the non-Veloce specification 156. Do they do them other than on the GTA and cheesy OTT after-market offerings?

Hmmm, ePER does indeed list 4 part numbers for the 3 (P3) door and same for the 5 (P5) door, no clue though as to how the numbers translate into what you might receive other than SN/DS (left right)

You'd think front door and back door/quarter, probably having to cut the front door sticker to allow for the door opening.

Staggering price though!
