Does anyone else have a interior face lift 156 (2002) where the climate control does it's own thing. I can be driving along on full blast aimed at the windscreen and it will divert air to the feet instead? Or when I press the max demist button it pushes all the air to the floor and turns it to just one bar on the fan? I know I have it on auto but I'd hope the auto would follow some sort of pattern!!
Good to know that I'm not alone Only thing that I can add is that I recognise the max demist thing, on mine it's when starting up ie the 'programme' waits for the engine to warm up sufficiently to deliver warm air to the screen (switches eventually). I'm sure my 147 was the same. too clever for it's own good (or dumb!!!)
Best thing to do is run it in full auto mode. From memory that's both orange lights on on the LEFT. Also make sure the snowflake light is on and ideally the mono button too - and then leave it. Just adjust the temp up and down as you require. It will then adjust the speed and direction accordingly.
Use the windscreen button for rapid demist in the morning, but remember it will only work once it has sufficient heat and that can take a while with the JTD. After a preset time this will switch off and revert to your original setting.

Reason: Didn't know my right from my left until Bazza Bear came along.
From memory that's both orange lights on on the right.
Close, but no cigar. Both orange lights on the left.
But I agree, if you leave it on auto and don't screw about with it all the time, it actually works very well. But then I park in a garage, so I don't have the demist issue often
