The best thing to do when you put the wrong fuel in is to have the tank drained. Older diesels will suffer a small amount of petrol but modern common rail
diesel engines hate it. Dont forget that petrol will float on top of diesel untill its thoroughly mixed. This can occur in the tank but there can often be some unmixed fuel in the fuel filter that causes intermittent problems.
I would get the system emptied and the fuel filter changed asap. If your problems persist after that you should start checking the system for faults.
