Strong petrol smell from GT V6

Hi there.

I've booked the GT in to be checked out on Friday. There has been a strong petrol smell coming from under the bonnet some time after start up and parking up after a drive out. It seems to be coming from the engine bay and it is noticeable people have commented on it if I park up near to another car. The car is running fine and not low on oil. I'm sure Ned and co. At Autolusso will fix the problem. I got the car right after a full engine rebuild. It's been running well since I got it and was aware there would be a snag list that comes with owning a 10 year old Alfa. It's been in a couple of times but only for oil check, air conditioning re-gassing etc. However I am a tad concerned this could be something major. Any thoughts as to what it could be?

Thanks.

I think all 147-156-GT with V6 engines, the fuel lines will eventually fail with age/heat, and this is something owners should keep in mind, is a big fire hazard, especially the connection ar the firewall, the actual fuel line is a thin plastic tube inside the rubber tubing, mine leaked in the same spot, this is what's inside the rubber tubing, and the connector can spin inside the tube
