ABS, ASR lights flashing

Both my ABS and ASR systems keep flashing up as failed on my 2001 147 lusso, do you think this is likley and can you manually tell if they have failed without taking it to the garage. Sometimes they dont come up but most of the time they are flashing and doing my head in!!
The car is also due a service could this have owt to do with it?

Re: ABS, ASR lights flashing

When you mean flashing, you mean literally flashing or flashing up as in flaging up?
You have two ASR lights you see...the (i) in the rev counter...this flashes up of you gonna loose the car sideways or your loosing traction. The MFD (Mulit Function Display) is where you may see the words ASR system failure appear with a picture. If its the latter, its the battery which requires changing (do a search on this as its sooo common!). If it is the first one I mentioned, take it to a dealer or independant (who has Examiner) to get it checked out.
