Jasons says "Its quite amazing that people here thinks the 2.4JTD is powerful enough in standard format."
Why on earth do you think that? Some of us are not BHP junkies. BHP does not make a car a nice car, in fact it can spoil some cars, it ruins economy, can adversely affect reliability, and where on public roads do you get to use 320 bhp ?. ...AlfaLincs
Think you got the wrong end of the stick...
People think the 2.4 is amazing in standard format, thats a good thing, but tune it and they are something else.
this is a postive for how flexible and the the engine is in standard format and more so with more grunt behind it.
As for short term thrill, my JTD has 165,000 (165k to be sure) under its belt, so short term it is not.
As for using 320bhp on the roads, yes, with ease, and 511Nm of torque also.
I am looking to change to the 420bhp version soon.
No doubt I will hear cries of 'all that power is a waste'?
But experience this yourself in everyday living and you would soon see why 140bhp as standard by 'comparison' can feel slow.
All things relative.
(had we not experienced power, we may still be quite content with our 1275 all-agro's moving us slowing from a-to-b)
No offense was intended.
