Strange climate control problems GT

Hi all,

Yesterday i took off the drivers door card to replace my creaking door check strap, as i took the card off i noticed the drivers switch pack was in pieces, so i reassembled it and tested it, both windows work as does the mirrors so cool.

I swapped out the check strap and that is fixed as well, so all good, put everything back together and left the car for the day.

This morning i start the car and notice that instead of a degree C reading i just have a row of dots, and now my heating doesn't work (I am guessing it needs the eternal temp to work out what to do)

i took the door card off again, i haven't trapped anything or have anything unplugged so what could the problem be?
i thought that if the sensor was faulty then the display would show -25 of something? could it be the switch pack? (i can't see how it could be)

any help would be great as it is now cold in the mornings

thanks

check the connections in the door/mirror.
The temp sensor in the outside mirror is connected to the window ecu in the driver door.... And yes, the climate control uses the external temp as an input.

thanks for the reply,

the connection looks good, is the row of dots on the dash display normal if the sensor stops working?

Would seem to indicate "open circuit", i.e. sensor not connected

I have found one of the ribbons in the door switch pack has four broken wires, from what i can see the loom runs through the pack? the windows and mirrors still work so i think that must be controlled by the 1st ribbon, the 2nd ribbon must be a loom bypass?

any thoughts?

thanks

Well i tried a switch pack from a 147, the mirrors work the outdoor temp works again it is just the windows that don't work now, so am i right in thinking that the switch pack from a 147 is different to a GT?

thanks
