Moaning Auxiliary belts

Hello there i have to change my auxiliary belt on my 2.0 ts 156, it is just about to snap due to the belt slipping.
Has anyone got the best place i could buy one and have they got a diagram of how to put it on?
can this be done on the street or will it have to be a garage job.

Re: Auxiliary belts

The parts can be bought for a reasonable price from Fiat Parts and Alfa Romeo Parts from Shop4Parts

I think you'll need to change the tensioner as well as the belt.

Re: Auxiliary belts

Can be done in the street but you would need to remove the inner wing shield to get to it.

Re: Auxiliary belts

You actually need to buy 2 tensioners, 1 fixed and 1 moving one. Thats providing your car has aircon, as most 156's do.

The best bet is to remove the cover under the wheel arch, and the one on top of the belt that is fixed to the cam cover, and have a look to see where the belt goes, its quite a complicated route. You will also need a swan neck 15mm ring spanner to undo the nut on the fixed tensioner. A normal spanner will not do, and there is not a lot of space for a socket.

You will never be cool driving a Vauxhall.
