Auto locking not working and not recognizing driver door opening.

Until 2 weeks ago it was working but now it doesn't.

When i turn off my car and pull key out, after getting out of my car, the car recognize that i opened a door and lock it self upon 1-2 min.

Also if i unlock a car and open a door the car recognize that and doesn't lock it self upon 1-2 min.

But when i close the door after that, the car locks after 1-2 min.

So basically there is an auto locking mechanism that recognize opening and closing door, but it doesn't react anymore on drivers door, if i do that on passenger door it works.

Also before when i open a driver door the dashboard lit up and light in the bottom of the door and inside a car.

So i guess there is something with recognizing driver door opening. On my older car there was a button in car shell which works as a switch when opening door. It usually gets jammed. But on my Alfa i don't see any buttons or switches nor in the door, nor in the shell.

How does the car recognize door opening. Is it something inside a door, in door lock, or inside a car shell, does it recognize electrically or mechanically, do anyone know?

Probably a switch in the door lock.

if it's a 147, it is indeed a switch in the doorlock

Yes it is 147, so there is a switch inside doorlock, so i probably have to remove whole door panel to be able to access a door mechanism?

Do you REALLY want a car with auto locking????

Can't think of a faster way to lock your keys in the car as they are sitting there in full view on the drivers seat where you left them!!!!

Yes the auto locking mechanism really helps me out, it happened to me many times that my hands are full so i can't lock the car. I really hated on my old car when i had to take something out of the car and go back to lock it, specially when it's bad weather. And i have spare key if i get locked my keys inside a car.

One more thing, when the key is in ignition the car doesn't lock down? As i remember from before, when i drive a car and stop, the car doesn't lock if i don't take the key out of ignition, now when i get key out of ignition the light and gauge table get lit up but the car still doesn't lock.

I am getting confused because i got my door open for a long time and actually the light on door lit up after a while but still didn't got locked when i closed the door.
