Is the car getting up to temperature? It should sit between 80 and 90ºC on the gauge at all times. If not you could have a dodgy thermostat.
The other problem that I can think of is that the coolant temp sensor has failed. It is screwed into the thermostsat housing on TS engines. You can check it with a multimeter, although I cannot remember off the top of my head what the readings should be. If this fails the car will probably run rich due to overfuelling.
Another Possibility is the MAF.
