I have put a 2lt 156 selespeed into a kit car and desperately need some advice on the electronics. What I am trying to achieve is to retain the kit car analog electrics and use the minimum of electronics to control the engine and selespeed. Can anyone tell me, do the speedometer or rev counter supply information to the gearbox or is the gearbox speed sensor sufficient on its own. Any information whether specific or general would be welcomed.
Road speed is provided to the engine & Selespeed ECUs from the ABS ECU.
I'm sure gearbox speed sensor is just used by the Selespeed ECU to judge clutch slip (difference between engine speed from the engine ECU and the signal from the gearbox input speed sensor).
Thanks for your reply.I have the complete wiring harness with all the electronics so as I am fitting a speedometer with a bolt on sensor, I should be able to take off a feed for the ecu.Do you think this will work? If any other observations occur to you they might be a great help.
