Alfa Romeo v6 enginenumbers ????

Hi there, all you clever Alfaowners.

I have a Little problem with the Alfa engine numbers and i have searched the forum and Google for an answer but so far, nothing usefull come up.

I have an Alfa Romeo 2.5 v6 24v,1998 model, engine number AR32401 with a engine who had run almost 300.000 miles with good care, its working BUT who will know what happen in the near future, so i have been looking for a replacement engine and have found a 2.5 v6 24v, but with the engine number AR 34201, could i put this engine into my 156 ?????.

Best regards

Bruno Laupstad.

AR34201 is a CF2 from a 166 so there are mounting differences.
Someone will outline exactly what those issues are.

Not sure on the V6 - I know the TS engine needs the sump swapping and also the aluminium bracket mounting the power steering pump and the alternator........fair bit of work. I'd look closely at the two engines before committing to the purchase.
