safety recall

my 156 veloce is 6 yrs old and on my doorstep i find a safety recall about bonnet closure obviously i am aware that you have to drop the bonnet from a height of 20 feet with a 10 ton weight on it. is this recall a matter of fact being that i am the new owner...

Re: safety recall

There was a recall and it may not have been done: mine wasn't. Get it checked, there have been some horror stories:

Re: safety recall

it isnt really a recall, more of a training session. they'll show you how to lubricate the mechanism and how to shut the bonnet.

you have to wonder who the hell is buying an alfa romeo these days if there is a need to give such basic training. what next? a recall to show you how to top the oil up (actually that probably would have been very useful for many people)

Re: safety recall

Jug ! you hit it straight on, my brother has seen many destroyed Alfa engines over the years in the Alfa garage.. some dumb *******s even said that they had seen the red oil warning light but thought they could get home... they never made it !!!!
If they were flying airplanes , the country would be lithered with wreckages..
