Engine oil for GT 2.0

Have been looking for best deals on oil. Is Mobil 1 Extended life ok and would 5ltr be enough, it's says 4.4 in book.

Mobil 1 Extended Life 10W-60 Synthetic Engine Oil 5 Litre

I also saw Castrol Edge 10W-60 With Titanium, but it says for BMW, is that exclusive to BMW cars and can that be used.

many thanks for any help

Don't use BMW oil, it will stop your blinkers from working.

This is a JTS 2.0? Choose your oil by conformity to the recommended ACEA grades (probably A3/B3/B4) and ideally API grade SN.

Yes it is a JTS 2.0, The book says SAE 10W-60, Does the brand make a difference?

SAE is basically just the viscosity rating, the others are more instructive as to intrinsic qualities of the oil to resist sludging and the amount of ash they form.

API - Note that they describe SN as an "obsolete" classification yet many brands still have it on their label!

ACEA Approximate Description

Look up the specs of the oil you were considering, in both these categories. If you're then not sure how to "read" it, post the data up. It's an oil thread; there should be plenty of opinions within the next few hours.
