Turbo noise - a bad sign?

1.9JTD 16V 140HP. I can hear something like an air building up and once off the throttle, a wooooosh. Perhaps some sort of air being released, or pushed.
My mechanic said it's normal since my Pre-cat is removed . No oil leaks around hoses, both are changed. No loss of power , inbefore an oil change.
Simular to this ,but quieter under accel.
Usually I would call it turbo fluttering, but is that possible on a diesel car?

Same sound on my JTD Mjet, only louder.

This started exactly after I did my full exhaust (removed cat and 63mm stainless pipe)

The exhaust removal just accentuates the sound, which was already there....

Okay, thanks. My exhaust is fully tuned too, cats removed all around. Great to know.
