Had mine (well, the wife's!) for 8 months now and the main things to bear in mind:
* The wheels are VERY vulnerable and cost £380 each! - they stick out a few mm from the tyres! It will not be possible to keep the car in pristine condition if you use it for school runs, shopping trips, etc.....
* Being quite small, low and black means people might not see you when they are reversing in busy car parks - has happened a few times and now finally got hit this week - only a small scuff mark but it happens!
Other than that, the car has been faultless (touch wood) and a joy to drive.
Why does she want to change the Cooper S? She will miss the performance unless you get a V6.
