156 rear light lenses

Is there 2 types of rear corner lenses?
In some picture Ive seen online, some 156s apear to have full red over the indicator and others have a slightly red lens with a clearly visable orange lens inside the light unit.
I hate the sight of the orange lens on my car and therefore trying to find another option.

The colour that it appears to be depends on the angle you are looking from.

As far as I know, the outer taillights (mounted to the body, not to the bootlid) are the same on all 156es.

Part number 60620136 for the right-hand light housing and 60620137 for the left-hand light housing.

There are, of course, a lot of aftermarket light units to choose from that look different.

Some do appear less red than others, this has come up before.
But I'm sure they are the same.
Maybe some fade more than others.

The first facelift turned them 'upside down' for want of a better expression, the second facelift put them closer to the original orientation

Are you sure phase 2 is different from phase 1 and 3?
I have never seen any difference at all between phase 1 and 2 rear lights.

Phase 3 definitely changed the light units mounted in the bootlid, but units mounted in the body, in which the orange turn signals are housed, are the same across all three phases, surely?

The lights that the OP has seen are probably Novitec aftermarket add ons.

Thanks for the replys lads
Maybe it is just my imagination that some are darker than others.
Im not refering to the boot lights incase anyone is confussed by my question, I know they are different on pre facelift and facelift models.
I might try split the units open and spray tint the horrible orange lens red.

Nope.
Rear lights only changed with the full facelift in late 2003.
