Alfa 156 2.0 ltr sports
I purchased an Alfa 156 from my uncle, having visited him interstate and being driven in it, I fell in love with it. All was fine until I decided to have a routine timing belt change at my local mechanic, who isn't an Alfa specialist but stated he had a mechanic that worked on ALfa's in the past. On driving the car from the mechanics, a major 'clicking' sound developed from the engine. I took it back and the mechanic who stated it was a pulley problem & that the crank pully needed replacing. They stated that it was a wonder the car made it to Adelaide with the crank pully in such bad condition. This didn't make sense as my uncle had the car for 2 years with no issues at all & lots of driving. After a 6 week wait, the crank pully was replaced. Then, having driven the car for 20 minutes, I parked it & notice the engine idling roughly, ranigng from approx 900 to 1200 revs & then stalled. I re-started it & noticed, on turing the engine off, a fusing/ sizzling type noise eminated from the engine. I will take it to a proper Alfa dealer ASAP, but does anyione have any ideas?
