Telling us what car & engine you have would help...!!!

Hope you've purchased a genuine Bosch one and not a cheap eBay copy...

Is there something under the bonnet that looks like the part you have bought?

What's wrong with the original MAF?

Could be several things other than MAF, expensive game parts swapping.

Could be EGR or TMAP.

You'll have spent a few shillings working your way through the the list.

Between the air filter and the turbo.

On the GT Diesel it fits into the side of the air filter housing, unfortunately he is also junking the air filter housing and fitting an "induction kit"..... so he will need to make it up as he goes along..... which may be a struggle as he has asked how to fit the induction kit...

My friend, I have seen your other thread. You seem to be asking advice after purchasing parts rather than asking advice before.

There are guides on this site regarding the issue you mention, in the sticky section.

Read that and it will tell you how to go about remedying your lack of power problem.

With the greatest of respect if you don't know where the MAF is you are better getting someone more qualified to look at your car

Yes, sorry I was trying to keep it simple. Saw the other post and I've responded above.

What do you mean by "N/A"?
You need a MAF sensor if that was the question.

Yes taking the piz, as all i askedwas if anybody knew how ro fit an induction kit.. and where the maf was situtated on a alfa gt , all i have had so far is people telling me all sorts of advise that has nothing to do with what i asked for ...... if people dont know on here i dont quite understand why they feel the need to just send comments like "bin it" ....

You asked for advice from some experienced Alfa owners, and got it.

The fitting of an induction kit is personal, everyone will fit it differently. Are there instructions with it. If there is they'll be generic so it'll be cutting drilling etc as you go along I would imagine, never felt the need for one.

Depending on the induction kit it would either require some modifications of the housing or not be possible at all. Basically you would need to modify the original housing to fit the unit you bought. There is no direct answer to your question as we don't know what kit you bought and its unlikely that anyone on here has tried fitting the same kit you bought into the original housing. So you would be the first person to do so on this forum, more than likely, so we can't give you any guidance on that issue. You will just need to remove the OE housing and get your induction kit and try and see if you can get the two to work together with some fabrication. Worst case, try and get a second hand housing from a wreckers yard so that if you destroy it you still have a good one left in case you decide to stick with the OE setup.

Also David C has told you the location of the MAF. Regarding getting it to all work together, you just need to take it apart and have a fiddle until you find the best way to get it to all fit nicely together.

If you want some advice, get it running properly BEFORE you start modifying it otherwise you'll never know if they are just existing faults that you haven't fixed or something new caused by later mods.
