Dashboard / Fuel gauge light change

hello all,

just to see if anyone knows how to get to the fuel gauge so i can replace the illumination bulb.

I know there are some screws in the ashtray area but sure the heater control knobs need removing etc

any help / information would be most helpful

Re: Dashboard / Fuel gauge light change

Outsides of heater controls pull off. You also need to remove the screws below the gear stick gaiter. The radio needs to come out (make sure you have the code handy if you need one) as there are two small hex headed screws behind that. Pull the centre console forward gently, you can then detach the wiring to the emergency flasher switch and the climate control sensor fan. The complete gauge unit can then be removed.

The bulbs are capless 286 1.2W ones, and I suggest you change all of them as s*ds law says when it is all back together again, one of the others will pop!

cheers, Gary

Re: Dashboard / Fuel gauge light change

a good thump on the dash above the gauge usually sorts it out.
