There are two versions of the actuator and both versions are used on the 2.0TS/JTS 156/147/GT.
So you need to make sure you get the right one.
For some reason the later version is £400 cheaper than the earlier one.
But as has already been said, make sure you have checked the basics first.
ie Selespeed fluid on the max mark and the correct fluid, pump running as it should, ECU plugs and sensors all connected properly.
It would be a shame to scrap the car because a sensor plug had fallen off!
By the way, an MCS error is unlikely to be anything to do with the Selespeed system. Usually is it just that the battery voltage has dropped too low and it needs charging or replacing, but it can be many things. Needs checking on the Examiner to be sure.
